Quercus undata Trel. 1924

Twigs moderate (3-4 mm.), somewhat fluted, staringly yellowish-tomentose, and remaining hoary
for several years. Buds brown, from densely tomentose glabrescent, rounded, 2 mm. in diameter.
Leaves deciduous ?, elliptical, very obtuse, round-based or cordate, entire or shallowly few-toothed
above, typically much crisped or complicated, rather small (2.5-4 x 5-7 cm.), persistently but detachably
yellow-tomentose on both faces, the upper rather glossy bluegreen when abraded; veins about 10-12 pairs,
looped at some distance from the margin; petiole long-tomentose, 2 x 5 mm., with rather persistent stipules.
Catkins: male 30 mm. long, fleecy, rather loosely flowered, the glabrous rounded anthers long-exserted;
female 2 x 30-50 mm., several-flowered at the end or in clusters. Fruit ?.
