Fruits acorn oblong 2 cm long, 1.3 cm wide; glabrous; enclosed 1/3 by cup; cup hemispherical velutinous outside, scales in 5-6 concentric rings with margins apical ones denticulate, others entire; scar 3-5 mm, flat; stylopodium persistent; matures first year;
