Fruits acorn 1-2.2 cm high, 1.5-2.7 cm in diameter; brown, weakly mucronate, apex rounded or slightly depressed, scar flat or depressed, 1.5- cm wide; enclosed 1/4 by cup; cup very shallow (0.5-1.2 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide), thick (3-5 mm), silky inside, tomentose outside, with 6-9 concentric rings marginally denticulate; maturing first year;
